About Us

WHO WE ARE

The Edwardsville Community Foundation, ECF, was established in 1997 by a group of local business and community leaders. They founded the ECF to create an organization where people could donate money that would directly impact the quality of life in the local communities.

The ECF operates as a charitable trust that receives, manages and distributes tax-deductible charitable contributions for the benefit of the residents living in the local communities as defined by the Edwardsville School District 7. Since its inception in 1997, The ECF has distributed more than $5.9 million to charitable causes.

COMMUNITIES WE SERVE

The communities we serve include: Edwardsville, Glen Carbon, Hamel, Moro, Dorsey and Worden and the surrounding areas.

WHO ADMINISTERS THE FOUNDATION’S AFFAIRS?

The affairs of The Foundation are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, all of whom serve without pay. Each director is a local resident appointed to the Board because of demonstrated concern for the future of the Edwardsville area.

HOW WILL MY DONATION BE USED?

There are many options for giving. You may advise the Board of Directors regarding specific projects or organizations you choose to fund. A contribution to the General Fund authorizes the Board to distribute your contribution as the Board deems appropriate in response to grant requests or to meet obvious charitable needs. You may want to consider the establishment of a Donor Advised Fund within the Foundation.
