SCHOLARSHIPS

The Edwardsville Community Foundation is dedicated to offering many scholarship opportunities to the students in the Edwardsville Community Unit District 7 School district. Annually, over 50 scholarships are awarded through the Foundation’s Scholarship Funds. Please check with the Guidance Counselors at your school for a scholarship application.

Metzger Family Grant
$500 annual grant to be awarded to a female non-traditional student attending Southern Illinois University Edwardsville or McKendree University
Applications for the Metzger Family Grant can be found in the financial aid offices at SIUE and McKendree University.

Dirty Dozen EHS Class of 1953 College Scholarship
$1,000 college scholarship for EHS graduating senior.

Dirty Dozen EHS Class of 1953 Vocational Scholarship
$1,000 vocational scholarships for EHS graduating senior.

Mildred A. Carr EHS Scholarship
$1,000 college or vocational scholarship in education, mathematics, science, engineering or business fields.


The Bank of Edwardsville Community Scholarship
4 – $2,000 college scholarships for metro-east graduating seniors in school districts where the Bank of Edwardsville has a presence.
The scholarship is renewable for four years.

Harris and Aurelia (Weidner) Berleman Baseball Scholarship
$1,000 college scholarship for EHS graduating senior who is a member of the EHS Varsity Baseball Team.


Charles A. Wentz, Jr. EHS Engineering Scholarship
8 – $1,000 college scholarships for EHS graduating seniors who plan to enroll in a college of engineering.

Charles A. Wentz, Jr. EHS Business and Science Scholarship
8 – $1,000 college scholarships for EHS graduating seniors plan to enroll in a college of business or science.

Charles A. Wentz, Jr. EHS Student Athlete Scholarship
2 -$1,000 college scholarships for EHS graduating senior who played varsity sports at EHS.

Frederick and Sophia Blume Bohm EHS Educational Scholarship
$1,000 college scholarship for EHS graduating senior who plans a career in science, engineering, teaching or vocational trade.

Christian P. and Frances Kaiser Smith EHS Educational Scholarship
$1,000 college scholarship for EHS graduating senior who plans a career in science, business, engineering or teaching.

William H. and Emma Smith Bohm EHS Educational Scholarship
$1,000 college scholarship for EHS graduating senior who plans a career in business, science, teaching or engineering.

Heinrich A. and Margaretha Roeth Wentz EHS Educational Scholarship
$1,000 college scholarship for EHS graduating senior who plans a career in business, science, engineering, teaching or vocational trade.

John P. and Louisa Tschannen Sehnert EHS Educational Scholarship
$1,000 college scholarship for EHS graduating senior who plans a career in business, science, engineering, teaching or vocational trade.

Emma D. Maria Bohm EHS Educational Scholarship
$1,000 college scholarship for EHS graduating senior who plans a career in teaching or business.

Wilbur H. Smith Bohm EHS Educational Scholarship
$1,000 college scholarship for EHS graduating senior who plans a career in teaching, coaching or sports medicine.

$1,000 college scholarship for EHS graduating senior who plans a career in business, science, engineering or teaching.

Conrad A. and Louise Sehnert Wentz EHS Educational Scholarship
$1,000 college scholarship for EHS graduating senior who plans a career in business, science, engineering or teaching.

New Bethel United Methodist Church – Charles A. Wentz, Jr. EHS Educational or Vocational School Scholarship
$1,000 college or vocational school scholarship for EHS graduating senior who is an active member of the church.

Immanuel United Methodist Church – Charles A. Wentz, Jr. EHS Educational or Vocational Scholarship
$1,000 college or vocational school scholarship for EHS graduating senior who is an active member of the church.

Mount Joy Missionary Baptist Church – Charles A. Wentz, Jr. EHS Educational or Vocational Scholarship
$1,000 college or vocational school scholarship for EHS graduating senior who is an active member of the church.

Wesley Chapel AME Church – Charles A. Wentz, Jr. EHS Educational or Vocational Scholarship
$1,000 college or vocational school scholarship for EHS graduating senior who is an active member of the church.

St. John’s United Methodist Church – Charles A. Wentz, Jr. Educational or Vocational Scholarship
$1,000 college or vocational school scholarship for EHS graduating senior who is an active member of the church.

Church of God in Christ Congregational – Charles A. Wentz, Jr. EHS College or Vocational School Scholarship
$1,000 college or vocational school scholarship for EHS graduating senior who is an active member of the church.

Sharon Petty Field Hockey Scholarship
$500.00 college scholarship for EHS graduating senior who is a member of the EHS Varsity Field Hockey Team.

David J. Wohlford Memorial Scholarship
$2,000.00 in scholarships for EHS  graduating senior(s) who plan a career in the healthcare field.
The scholarship is renewable for four (4) years.

Gordon Dodds Literary Scholarship
$1,000.00 scholarship for EHS graduating senior who has demonstrated the most outstanding writing skills at EHS.

Edwardsville Community Foundation Fine Arts Scholarship
Up to 5 – $1,000 scholarships for EHS graduating seniors who plan to major in fine arts.

EHS Orchestra Scholarship Fund
$250.00 scholarship for an EHS student to receive private lessons.
$200.00 scholarship for an EHS graduating senior who plans to study music.


Goshen Rotary Scholarship 
$1,000 to a graduating high school senior from EHS, MELHS or Fr. McGivney HS who plans to continue their education beyond high school at an accredited university, college trade or vocational school in the coming fall as a full-time student.  

Ryan Garbs Gold Star Memorial Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from EHS, MELHS or Fr. McGivney HS who plans to continue his/her education in college in law enforcement or criminal justice.

Dennis DeToye Scholarship
$1,000 to graduating seniors at EHS, MELHS or Fr. McGivney HS who plan to continue their education at an accredited university as an Art Major.

Mark Speciale Family Vocational Scholarship
$1,500 for two years to graduating seniors from EHS and MELHS for continuing studies at an accredited trade or vocational school (excluding the IT field).
